Sometime during 2019, I decided I was going to teach myself how to quilt, and by the end of the year I had created and gifted three baby quilts. Here is a quick roundup of the patterns and fabrics I used!
Number 1: Monster’s Inc Triangle Quilt
The first one I made was for one of my oldest friends who was planning a Monster’s Inc. themed nursery. I used this Modern Ombre Triangle Quilt pattern from SeeKateSew and matched some Kona Solids to this cute Monster’s Inc fabric .
This one was super easy to make! I would love to make more using the original ombre color scheme or a black and white monochrome would look really sharp!
Number 2: Woodland Quilt
The next quilt was for my friends’ woodland-themed nursery. I used the Misty Mountain Quilt Pattern by Patchwork and Poodles, which I purchased off Etsy. The front again is Kona Solids (I love me some solids!) and the back was a bit of an accident. The cute woodland pattern is by Riley Blake, but I accidentally ordered jersey knit instead of quilter’s cotton. It came out great and the back is SO soft!
Number 3: Modern Plus Quilt
The third and final quilt was for my friends’ baby girl – I used this “easiest quilt in the world” tutorial. The front is made from Kona Solids – Peach and Snow – and the back is a floral Rifle Paper Co print from Cotton + Steel. Binding is from Magical Rainbow Unicorns by Robert Kaufman.
I loved making this one! I love the idea that the tone and vibe of the quilt can completely change depending on colors and pattern – can’t wait to make more using different colorways!
