Our star charts, or astrological natal chart, (a representation of the alignment of stars at the exact moment we were born) can provide us a detailed interpretation of our personality and potential. Without delving into a complete astrology lesson, there are specific elements of our charts that can assist us in home decor!
Firstly, your sun sign can provide a general overview of your traits that can be translated into decorating ideas. Geminis may want a library or lots of bookshelves to quench their constant curiosity, or a Cancer may want a beautiful gourmet kitchen where they can provide for and gather their loved ones.
In our star charts, both the Moon and the sign occupying the 4th House can further help to create an ideal home. The Moon represents overall needs, and its specific placement in your chart can reveal the environments you need to feel relaxed, safe and nurtured. For example, a Virgo, who is at her best in simple, romantic designs may opt to incorporate more water features and mirrors to reflect natural light because her Moon is in Pisces. The fourth house represents “home and family”, so add the ruling sign in this house with your sun sign & moon sign to get a more specific ideas to apply towards your decorating. Let’s say our Virgo has a 4th house that is ruled by Libra. She would want to incorporate symmetry into her design (either literally – matching chairs, matching lamps; or figuratively – an overall sense of symmetry throughout the whole house).
