Plus, a small mishap.

If you know me, you know I’ve been talking about painting my living room for the past 3+ years. I finally did it! If you haven’t seen the before pictures, be sure to check out my post from last year featuring photos of my living room which was at the time painted Sherwin Williams Popular Grey.

Long story short, I painted the living room, dining room, and the wall that runs into the kitchen Benjamin Moore Allspice. (I also had this paint color in my last house – in my bedroom). I love it! It’s beige, it’s brown, it’s pink. It changes color throughout the day depending on the sunlight.

This was my first time painting without using tape and I owe that to this Wooster Shortcut Brush. It made cutting in fantastically easy.

I felt like a pro using this guy!

About an hour into painting, I had a big whoopsie and dropped about a pint of paint all over the floor while I was up on the ladder. And it got. all. over. everything. Took about an hour and a half just to clean up this mess before I could get back to the wall. Thank goodness I put down a drop cloth! But also, posting this in here to say it happens to the best of us.

Here are pictures from the rest of the room! Curtains and mounting the TV are on my to-do list.

Part of the issue I had with picking a paint color was this wall that stretches all the way from the living room into the kitchen. Read more about my black kitchen here.

I used the chopstick I used earlier to keep the wick from floating over, but old clothes pins work too!
